Saying No

It’s Self Love Saturday and today is about saying No. Saying no to anything that we don’t feel like doing or aren’t comfortable with. Have you paid attention to things you do? Part of self love is to recognize things we do half heartedly or without feeling 100% good about it. Ask yourself about what those things are. Make a list of things you do forcibly because you haven’t created healthy boundaries for yourself. Then next time you have to do one of those things, politely and lovingly say no if you don’t feel like doing it. It could be anything - waking up early, staying up late, cooking, cleaning, eating, going out, talking to someone / picking up a phone call, spending money, spending time, doing work you don’t like, keeping relationships that aren’t for your best and highest good, … the list is endless of things we do just because we feel obligated. A lot of that conditioning is self developed and needs to be changed for self love. Remember, you have an obligation to yourself too. Start putting yourself above everyone else. I don’t mean that we don’t value others or don’t do things for others, but if we tend to our needs first, we can support others in theirs better. It’s very hard to put ourselves above others, but very important and essential for our well being and for self love. Start saying no and see how amazing and empowering it is. If you aren’t used to saying no, it might be intimidating initially, but know that only you have the ability and courage to do that for yourself and sooner or later you will do it so the sooner you start, the better it is. Others can’t help you. You have to help yourself. Also, the more you do it, the easier it gets just like everything else. Practice makes it perfect. So start saying no for anything you don’t have bandwidth for or don’t feel like doing and see how things improve in your life. Here’s to saying No more often and whenever we feel like it. I just said no to eating Vietnamese food because I feel like having Mexican today. So what is the latest thing you said No for?

Compassion

Self Love Saturday is here and today’s topic is compassion. Compassion for self, for others, for everyone. When we are compassionate, we accept things as they are. We recognize and understand suffering of others and of ourselves too. We understand that there could be many things that affect why something or someone is certain way. There is less judgement and more acceptance.

Compassion literally means “to suffer together“. We can only feel compassionate when we understand that we all are connected to each other and that too very deeply. We all are the same, no matter how different we look from the outside and we all want the same thing in life - acceptance, love, respect, success, happiness, meaning, and more. When we start seeing this commonality in each other, we can put ourselves in others’ shoes and compassion comes easily to us. Have you ever gone to a party where you didn’t know anyone? Then you meet someone who has gone to same school as you in childhood. How does that make you feel? Connected, right? There is an instant connection because you have something in common. Enthusiasm, eagerness, smiles start showing up and all of a sudden it’s not a boring party any more; there is a sense of comfort and familiarity. Compassion can be felt the same way when we realize that every single person around us is exactly like us at the core. There is no difference between us. That’s when you start seeing people with compassion. You understand and accept everyone as they are without judgement. Kindness flows from within.

Compassion for self makes us feel:
* Enough
* Loved
* Cared for
* Deserving
* Abundant
* Kind
* Forgiving
* List continues…

Compassion for others makes us more:
* Loving
* Caring
* Peaceful
* Calm
* Relaxed
* Forgiving
* Kind
* Big hearted
* Positive
* Energetic
* Happy
* Joyful
* Content
* Healthy
* List continues…

All of these are very important because they make us feel complete. Practice compassion daily and see how marvelous every day of your life becomes. ✨🌈💗🌊 #GratefulKanan #SelfLove #SelfCare #SwarmingForSelfLove #SelfLoveSaturdays #compassion #kindness #pacificocean

Breathing

Welcome 2022, A Happiest New Year! 🎊🥳🎉🌈 🎆

It is Self Love Saturday and today is about breathing. If I were to choose one solution that works for almost every problem in this world, it would be “breathing”. Breathing deeply as much as you can and whenever you can. I’ve discovered that breathing deeply does so much good to our mind and body you just have to try it to experience it.

Next time you get stuck somewhere or have a so-called problem, try taking three deep breaths and see how that makes you feel. Actually, don’t even wait for that. Try it NOW. Make sure you breathe in through the nose and your belly is rising with each inhale and your exhales are as long as your inhales or longer. Close your eyes and take three deep breaths. With each inhale, breathe in fresh air and calmness and with each exhale, let go of what’s no longer serving you. Note down how you feel before and after the breathing exercise. What is it that you felt? If you feel comfortable, please do share here. If you haven’t tried deep breathing in a while, this might take some getting used to. I’m still learning it and getting comfortable with it. After just three deep breaths, I have felt that my anxiety, worry, or fear starts to melt away. My mind is able to think clearly. My body is more relaxed and less tense. The panic mode gets replaced with “so what can I do now?” mode and the problem doesn’t seem as big as it did initially. Breathing well and deeply also provides our cells the much needed oxygen and in turning allowing the healing powers of our body to get activated and to repair the damage and daily wear and tear.

There are so many types of breathing styles and techniques so explore what works for you and what feels best. Best breathing technique is the one that makes you feel better so trust your instincts. Best time for breathing properly is every moment, but for more benefits try 45 min before sunrise. The air has maximum amounts of oxygen during that time.

Here’s to more full breaths 🧘‍♀️ that fill up our strong, healthy lungs 🫁 and our miraculous bodies. ♥️🙏🏽
